Glassy and swell to start the day

Hello Friends,

What a difference a change in the weather makes to one’s attitude.

At 0800 the wind was coming lightly from the west, the Botany Bay waverider buoy was showing an east wind swell of 1.77 metres with a period of 9 seconds. The tide was running into the deep 1.84 m high at 1055 and the weather forecast was telling us to expect a high of 28, partly cloudy skies and the possibility of a shower in the afternoon.

Weather Situation

A low-pressure system lies near the southern New South Wales coast, supported by an upper-level low a little further west. This coastal low is providing forcing for further heavy rainfall along the south coast and gale-force winds over southern coastal waters. The coastal low is expected to be slow moving today, before moving east across the western Tasman Sea on Friday.
