"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Sunny start and little waves too

Hello Friends,

Contrary to the forecast, this morning dawned with bright blue skies and WSW wind. Out at sea the swell was near the 2 metre mark, 9 seconds apart and still dead south. As the pictures show, that meant it was mostly going past Dee Why. Waves at the point and along the beach looked to be in the knee to occasional waist-and-a-bit range. Take the floaty surf toy for your best shot at a little fun one. As the Bureau notes below, the wind should come around to the south soon and the swell, such as it is, will fade gradually to an even more marginal state. Tide is currently dropping to the low at 1130. Beachwatch says the water should be clean and 22, so that’s nice.

If you’re wondering about our surf prospects, be sure to check out the Goat’s week-ahead surf forecast.

Jump in quick to avoid disappointment later!

And go well with your Friday.

Weather Situation

A low pressure system developing over the Tasman Sea is directing a southerly airstream along the New South Wales coast, and will remain the dominant feature for coastal winds during Friday. Winds will shift northeasterly during the weekend as the low moves away and weak ridge develops in its place, freshening in many areas as another trough slowly approaches from the west. This trough is likely to bring a change to coastal waters during the first half of the week, although there is a high degree of uncertainty regarding its precise movement.
