"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Clean early but still tiny

Hello Friends,

A near calm start to Sunday morning along the beaches. Unfortunately the swell’s still around the knee-high mark. Out at sea it’s close to 2 metres and 9 seconds apart, but it’s coming from the S by SSW, so all the energy is heading away from us. There’s a 50% of a shower today as we head to a high of 29 along the coast.

By this time tomorrow the flatness will be no more and we should be seeing a very solid south swell in the 3 metre/11 second range during the morning, with some models showing 14-15 second periods by the afternoon. Of course the south wind will be smashing it too, so surf options will be limited and really only suitable for experienced, fit riders.

Tuesday should see swell energy dialled back a touch, but with only light winds for the morning session. As the week goes on the swell should only gradually fade while it also gets a touch more SE, and the mornings should start out with light wind. Could be quite the surf week…

Have a great Sunday one and all!

Weather Situation

A southerly change has stalled near the Queensland border. Coastal winds have eased for today ahead of a more vigorous southerly change which will affect southern waters later today before continuing to the north early Monday. Behind this, a slow-moving high pressure system will become the dominant feature in the region through the first half of the new week, with winds gradually shifting northeasterly through Tuesday and Wednesday.
