For a second there, just after sunrise, I thought winter had returned. Clad only in a t-shirt, the stiff westerly offshore cut right through me so I thought that’s it for me. But I persisted and I’m glad I did because the day only got better. Except for the flies – how bad were they!
I didn’t find anything of note at the usual places so I headed north, settling in for a couple of hours at Narrabeen where a tidy combination of a favourable wind direction, southerly swell and an accommodating dropping tide pulled in some nice waves.
