Howdy from West Oz. Yes, we do get good waves in Geraldton now and again!
Well, it’s not exactly all-time, all of the time in the surf department over this part of the world, but every now and again… This morning. Pic from Nic.
Howdy all!
Hello RealSurfers! Rob here — back for a quick visit to RealSurf after a 6 month hiatus. You may have heard: we pulled up stakes from Dee Why in February and have since relocated digs to mostly-sunny Geraldton, Western Australia. It’s been a big change from just being able to turn your head to the […]
Dee Why. End of an Era: 1. LineUp Surf, gone after 22 years. 2. Rob’s Eye on Dee Why moving soon
Well folks, LineUp Surf in Dee Why is no more. With increasing rents and declining retail margins, Mr. Ryan has decided to focus on Surf Travel and surfing lessons and to close the iconic LineUp Surf shop that has graced The Strand in Dee Why for 22 years. You can still book online surf travel […]
Dee Why: Some quantity, not much quality…
You can have it pretty much to yourself today, only need to share with the kitesurfers. Hardly anyone in the water. Size but but not quality. Cheers, Rob
Not much doing this afternoon at Dee Why. Beach is super-crowded with swimmers and sun bakers but there’s not much going in the surf department. The odd nor-east swell wave crumbles through the Point but now often enough to warrant a paddle out there . There are quite a few beginners and desperates up between […]
Dee Why: Sunny, warm, beautiful — and pretty much flat.
Pretty much flat today, bar a few tiny, mushy ones up around the Pole.
New Year’s Day +1: Mushy, small and windy.
Nothing remarkable to comment on today. It’s about 15 knot from the south to SE at 1315hrs and the surf is about knee to waist high. Better day for a kite than a surf!
Dee Why: Quite a few punters on big boards this morning–not much surf about
It’s a grey, quiet sort of morning with a few showers now and again. A few dozen in the water from Dee Why to Longy but the surf is tiny. Waist high at best. Looks like it’ll remain similar for most of the day with an increasing SE wind to about 10-12 knots later.
Dee Why: Beaut of a day! Small waves, loads sunshine!
Not much to say really — Light easterly about 5-8 knots; dead low tide at 1530hrs and some small waves around the traps, but you’ll need some significant foam under you to catch them. Have a great day!
Dee Why: Not today. Mushy, wrong direction, onshore.
I tried for about 15 minutes to catch a shot of someone actually riding wave, but eventually gave it up. A few folks in the water at the Point but no one seems to be catching anything htis afternoon around quarter past five. E Swell about 1-5 m and south wind about 15 knots — […]
