Dee Why: Sunshine and some punchy waves–and a fair bit of mayhem.
Sparkling start to the day today in Dee Why. Nice surprise to see how well the Council cleaned up the reserve after the thousands of people yesterday and last night for the festival in Dee Why. For a change, a relatively-well behaved crowd, albeit the usual dim-witted drunks who inevitably attempt to spoil the party […]
Dee Why: Mahem on the street–some waves if you can get to them
Some sort of event going on along the Strand today. Loads of people. Unless you have pre-arranged parking you might want to try another spot. Head high plus set waves, not many folks out so if you can get there it’s not too bad.
Dee Why: Hot humid and sunny–pretty ordinary in the wave department.
Nothing to really remark about — despite the “High Surf Warning” from the BOM and the SMH, nothing doing at Dee Why today. Couple guys at the Point, patiently waiting but I haven’t seen anyone get a wave in an hour. About 10 knots of nor’easter blowing. Better luck tomorrow perhaps?
Dee Why on the last day of the world: a few ways–not looking terribly appocalyptic…
1345 Update: In case you thought you were going to rush to the beach and score some uncrowded 15sec interval bombs at the Point– it just ain’t happening. Crowded, lots of drop-ins and guys in ugly boardies. A few waves. Hot. Enjoy you last surf before the world ends. What time is […]
Dee Why: Sunny Surf
Nice little wave on the Point this morning with only a few crew around. Head high on the sets. Forecast is for easterly winds 15-20 knots later so if you’re keen and can get away today, early will be better than later.
Dee Why: Pfffffat. But might improve later as the tide drops
Swell has come up along with the wind this afternoon. Today’s high tide at around noon was one of the highest of the year (2.0m) so it’s still pretty fat out there but should improve as the tide drops later in the day. Hot day at 30C and a NE wind about 12 knots at […]
Dee Why: Small NE swell; Point flat; Small, fat wave at Dee Why Centre
Well, it’s pretty much what we’d expect to see this time of year in Sydney — small, weak waves and mushy, onshore conditions that will only get more messy as the nor’easter builds to 20 knots toward the afternoon. A strong weather system appears to be forming off Fiji at the moment […]
Dee Why: Pretty typical summer’s day–small and mushy
Sun is glistening off the sparkling blue sea this morning, looking like a sweet summer’s day but the surf is also pretty typical of summer. Small and mushy and dominated by surf schools and beginners. Nothing much to speak of.
Dee Why: a small wave today, but the southerly is messing with it.
First time in a while that I’ve actually seen anyone at the Point. Small and sloppy but there is a wave there. Typical very average conditions up the beach with the wind into it badly and no one out that I can see.
Dee Why: Wet, small.
Nothing doing today. Overcast, light wind, rain and very small surf. Looks like it may pick up later in the week.
