"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Slop central

It’s as messy as a half sucked mango this morning without one option to offer you. There is swell…..but the wind is oh so wrong. Let’s hope all the forces will align and produce what we deserve soon.

Just awful.

It’s as windy as a baked bean eating competition, as choppy as a karate studio and there are more white caps than a lawn bowls tournament. Stay home.

Violent crumbles.

Grey day in Bondi with more news crews here today than when Paris Hilton was visiting . You’ve obviously heard about the shark attack and it seems to have had an affect on decisions this morning. Not one surfer from Bronte to Bondi. If you do have the balls though, Bronte reef and Bondi cosy […]

Hey Huey, talk to the God in charge of wind.

Solid 3 to 5 foot of SE swell, finally, but wind affected. Best are the southern corners of Bronte and Bondi. I say it’s worth taking the day off for a surf today, we’ve deserved it. Not sure how long this swell will stick around for.

Wax up baby!

Hey it’s not D’bah but it’s very much worth a session. Shoulder high on the sets and, although a little full now, will improve later. Bronte reef, Tama reef, Tama outcrop and South corner Bondi the picks. The banks in between these spots are all but gone but with a little wave action lets hope […]

More chance of skiing at Mt Druit.

Forgive me Huey for I have sinned. It’s been 6 weeks since my last session. During this time I have skateboarded, skim boarded and thrown frisbee. Are these sins the reason why the city beaches have no waves? How many whale Marys?

These pancakes are making me fat!

Not worth the effort at any of my lot today so I think i will go shopping for a new board. Budget about $950 and due in April. I think my wife might buy me one too!

Hey Huey, give us a wave.

I’m slowly running out of patience with this dire swell situation. I was even checking out cheap airfares to Indo in today’s papers. There was a small surfable wave at Tama at 5.30 this morning, 3 guys on it, lasted 1 hour. Maybe check it tomorrow. Everywhere else was flat as it is now.

How long can this go on.

As the great David Byrne and PB said, “same as it ever was”. I don’t remember a dry spell for this long before (except for when I was living on an Island in the Mediterranean). Think of the positives, if you’re going to work, chances are it’s air conditioned.
