So that was an intermittent shower according to the bureau, huh, I think not. It was pissing down bucket loads, in Byron Bay today. There was not much swell again and the grey held sway. But that was not going to wipe the smile off our faces today. The simple fact is that today two new Kyu P Beak models were added to the Bear section in the showroom out at North Coast Surfboards. These boards are the result of a whole lot of hard work between yours truly, Yoko, Hutcho, Evan, Tony and Simon and they are proof that hard work is worth the effort. Both Yoko and I have been riding the original versions of this model for the last 6 months, and we’re still frothing over them. So it’s a big step for us today, and we’re super stoked to have some stock boards in the showroom, In Byron Bay Today.

Ok so yeah there was very little swell to speak of, in Byron Bay today. There were a few solid peaks on the open side that were worth getting into before the wind got too strong. But if it’s the bay you wanted, then it was time to drag out the beasties and just play. The wind was just a tad too strong most of the day, and Huey popped up with a few drops of rain, but all in all those who bothered found it small but sweet, In Byron Bay Today.

Yes indeed the swell has backed off more than a little bit, in Byron Bay today. So to not put too fine point on it, it was drag out the log, or you were in for a hard slog as the waves were clean but soft & small all day. Me I prefer to not be under gunned so after shooting some shots I pulled the big beastie out to play. To all the crew who’ve been sending well wishes to Yoko for a speedy recovery from her dislocated shoulder. Thanks guys, you must have been sending good Juju. Because although she’s still a bit stiff and sore she tentatively ventured back into the water today, and let me tell you, there was much rejoicing after a few little slides were had, In Byron Bay Today.

Well maybe it wasn’t quite that hot, yet compared to the weather of the last few months it was like strolling around in a sauna, in Byron Bay today. Hot and humid though it was, there were waves. The water was as clear as it gets, the swell still had a little lingering size, and occasionally some even shaped up clean enough for a reasonable slide. There were a few blueys so watch out for them if you’re allergic or just averse to getting stung. Also we watched something large chase several school of fish through the lineup repeatedly, not sure what it was, as I wasn’t in the water at the time or high enough to get a clean shot of it. But suffice to say whatever it was it was large enough to have the fish freaked, In Byron Bay Today.

Well we really couldn’t ask for better weather for a Sunday than what was dished up, in Byron Bay today. We even had swell and offshore winds to boot. There were people all over the place; car parks were going at a premium rate, and some were thinking it may be time to lock the gate. The place really can’t handle any more people than this. Today the bay was at saturation point. That moment when it’s only just manageable, any more people, and folks start getting cranky and losing their tempers. Then it’s no fun for anyone. Pity the powers that be, just can’t seem to see, that geographically speaking Byron Bay is a finite space. We can’t just keep piling people in on top of each other at this current rate. Luckily today, we reached the limit without spilling over the top. It was hard to get a park, but thankfully you could still find one with patience. The traffic was heavy, but not quite gridlocked, in today’s terms; it means all is well for a sunny Sunday with swell, In Byron Bay Today.
