dropped a lot but still some fun ones
Posted on July 14th, 2009 in South Coast.Chilly but perfect condx with 2-4ft waves and long lulls. Wind was W/NW early but swung SW about 8:30ish. Swell has turned a bit more SE than E and still some nice lines but had a definite “dropping” feel, pretty much as forecast. Worth a paddle. Rosco.
good condx, pleny of water moving, some good waves to be had
Posted on July 13th, 2009 in South Coast.I reckon its a tad bigger this morning then yday arvo and cleaner with a lite W/NW breeze. Cracking 6ft sets out of the ENE, plenty of water moving around. Find your favourite ENE swell/NW wind combo spot, get your paddling arms on and get out there. Water temp I reckon is about 18/19C on the Nth Shoalhaven stretch. Rosco.
chilly but some decent looking waves around
Posted on July 7th, 2009 in South Coast.Another chilly one. I’d say it’s a little smaller than y’day, but still some good looking lines in the 2-4ft range out of the S on my home stretch so I’d guess there are bigger waves to be had if you dont mind a bit of wind effect. Wind is a lazy SW (wont go round you) and condx look A1 except for the chilly waiting round between sets. Water temp feels cooler these last couple of surfs/days. Rosco.
ene swell on the wane, strong offshores
Posted on June 25th, 2009 in South Coast.Cracking waves y’day, early signs looks like its dropped a fair bit o’nite. 2-4ft waves out of the ENE with a stiff W wind blowing the backs off ‘em. Swell is forecast to ease further so probably best bet to get amongst it earlier than later if you can. Water still warm but plenty of wind chill. Rosco.
plenty of juice, still a bit of bump in it.
Posted on June 23rd, 2009 in South Coast.Blue skies, cool offshore and plenty of waves. 3-5ft+ out of the ENE. I reckon its a bit more even and possibly a bit bigger than y’day arvo but still with a fair element of ENE bump making it not quite epic but good fun/interesting. Quite a bit of water moving around and the early high tide not ideal but worth a paddle. Water still warm (~20C?). Rosco.
2-3ft offshore and not too bad
Posted on June 5th, 2009 in South Coast.ENE swell has eased o’nite leaving some not bad looking waves in the 2-3ft range with the odd bigger set, dropping tide, and offshore. WAYWF (what are you waiting for). Rosco.
surfable but not great
Posted on May 28th, 2009 in South Coast.a 2-3ft mix of fairly uneven leftover E and new S/SE swell with a touch of extra bumpiness from the o’nite S change. Wind was a lite but cool SW early and forecast to be heading more S as the day wears on. Surfable but nothing too special. Rosco.
new lines out of the S
Posted on April 28th, 2009 in South Coast.I’m seeing 1-2ft+ lines out of the S, not materialising into anything too spectacular but looks promising for an increase through the day. Perhaps bigger sets at the S swell magnets. Good condx with a lite but very cool W/SW breeze early, NW now. Mid morning high tide not a big one but is still into it a bit. Rosco.
not too bad looking
Posted on April 8th, 2009 in South Coast. Some ok looking but high tide affected 2-3ft+ waves out of the SE with the wind SW early. Wind looks to be SSE now so set the expectations a lot lower and hope for the best. Rosco.
out with the old ENE in with the new S
Posted on April 7th, 2009 in South Coast.ENE swell seems to be mostly all gone, replaced by fairly disorganised 2-3ft+ waves out of the S. Not bad condx early with a SW breeze, but early high tide and the wind forecast to go S not ideal. Probably worth a paddle if you’ve missed out the last week or so, but maybe a good time for a little bit of R&R or work before the Easter feast. Rosco.
