on thursday at sunset: up to 1-foot waves at our rivermouth point – long, smooth and steady lines, not quite big enough or strong enough to surf on, but nearly there – brisk onshore wind will bring something choicer from up the straits, soon – cox bay tofino showing stronger 1 – 2 foot lines, looks surfable to me, apparently not to the chauvinist beachers – excellent conditions have abounded, amid recent weeks of endless storms, and the global horrors that we must overcome – calmer, milder now – please stay tuned (and chew kelp) !! twitter mercuryloge \,,/

[south-west vancouver island] – on friday at 7 pm: flat, choppy and listless at our rivermouth point, in spite of some decent troughs and whitecaps across the straits today – rideable waves are likely to be holding at our lost village beach, further up the straits towards open ocean – marine winds southwesterly and westerly to 20 knots – please stay tuned ….
