Thurs Bumps
Posted on February 9th, 2012 in Manly.Firstly happy birthday to my beautiful girl Nath. Let’s see if she reads these reports like she tells me she does. Secondly the onshore surf continues with 3ft of swell, a touch more East, with a moderate east wind to keep it crappy. Has been some ok form in the last few onshore days so now your standards are low it can seem ok.
More junk
Posted on February 8th, 2012 in Manly.Pretty junky with 3-4ft of SE swell and onshore SSE winds. Uncrowded at least if you want to have a bash. You’ll start to see a lot of rippers practicing in front of the new super structure on the beach before the Aus Open this weekend. Lets hope Manly turns it on
Dropped and chopped
Posted on February 7th, 2012 in Manly. At least we got one good day Swell has dropped a notch and the wind is ugly SSE. 4-5ft of choppy stuff so you need to hide in sth corner. Makes me realise I under called it yesterday. Even though I was out I didn’t realise how big it was until I saw a few shots of solid double overhead and more waves. Oh well At least it didn’t wash away the AUS open skatebowl. They panicked last night and sandbagged it so maybe that will help push back some sand banks in front? Longshot.
Southerly Hit
Posted on February 6th, 2012 in Manly.Southerly change just hit at 8am turning bumpy solid 4-5ft into clean waves. Big grey rain change on the horizon so not sure if it will kill it or not. My guess is you’ll need to shelter in south corners. As I type it’s empty, clean and pumping but that will change by the time you drive to the beach. At dawn was bumpy and rippy so I wish I could paddle out now 10 mins ago instead of dawn.
Clean Sat
Posted on February 4th, 2012 in Manly.Clean waist to shoulder high East swell. Offshore wind. Sounds pretty good right by recent standards? On and there’s almost sun! It’s a little soft so mal’s dominating but tide is dropping and Sat crowds building.
Toxic Queensy
Posted on February 3rd, 2012 in Manly.Queensy lagoon broke the banks and is pouring out some of “the most polluted water on the East Coast” as quoted by the council website. So plug your orifices if you want to brave that corner. Super clean (excuse the pun) 2ft or so waves for the rest of the beach with light W offshore grooming things. Wind is forecast to swing around more south. Low tide 12:30.
“The lagoon is not currently suitable for recreational activities such as swimming, wading, fishing, and boating, due to high levels of faecal pathogens arising from stormwater runoff and sewer pollution.”

Something coming
Posted on February 2nd, 2012 in Manly.Pretty depressing today so whats keeping me positive is the maps for the weekend with some East swell due and hopefully friendly winds. Today has onshores, drizzle and 2-3ft of south swell. Maybe some protection at the south ends from the SE wind. I’m just gonna try and be patient
February Fresh
Posted on February 1st, 2012 in Manly.First day of Feb is a real statement about our summer so far Grey, drizzle, ugly SE onshore and 2-3ft of south crap. Huey better turn it on for the Aussie Open or we’ll look pretty silly.
Best in while Kinda
Posted on January 31st, 2012 in Manly. After everyone in Manly was out last night you’d expect a keen crew this morning. Technically great conditions with 2-3ft on ENE swell and warm offshore winds. Form isn’t perfect though but right time, tide and place has some good ones. Best in a while so get out there before the forecast southerly change hits. 8:53am low tide
Windy Peaks
Posted on January 30th, 2012 in Manly.3ft+ of new NE windswell peaks Looks pretty fun actually at the North ends out of the strong NNE onshores with a light Monday morning crew. Low 7:52am
