Arvo fun

Posted on April 5th, 2012 in North Narrabeen.

The 3 – 4 foot swell is hanging in there this afternoon.  It seems to be a little straight for most beaches and just needs that hint of more northerly direction.  Most beaches didn’t handle the swell early but it has settled a bit.  Good Friday will be a good Friday.  Win a FCS poncho at Surf Photos of You.

Fun grey ones 2 – 3 foot.

There are a few fun waves around this morning.  Swell now out of the E at 2 – 3 foot.  Northy had a few waves and a good sized crew.  Enjoy.  Surf Photos of You.

A few pics from this morning

Posted on February 13th, 2012 in At large, Mona Vale, North Narrabeen, South Narrabeen, Warriewood.

Found myself running an important errand up to Newport, so on the way back, I grabbed a few snaps. Looks pretty small at most places, but there are some shoulder high sets hiding in amongst the little ones…

Dreary skies but waves to be had

Posted on February 11th, 2012 in At large, Dee Why, North Narrabeen, South Narrabeen.

Hello Friends,

Small east wind swell getting into our beaches this morning under heavy grey skies before 0700. It’s around the 1.5 metre mark and the average period is 7-8 seconds. Tide’s coming in as I write this and will hit high at 1030 and then drop away pretty rapidly to the low at 1650. There’s a 70% chance of rain and it should get to 27.

Waves were around the waist to chest high plus range at Dee Why, Northy and South Narrabeen this morning and thanks to the light winds, were also fairly glassy.

Wind is expected to be SE by lunch time before going back around to the NE later.

Outlook is for energy levels to drop back a touch but we should have something to mess around with through the weekend. Next week on the other hand is looking pretty marginal from the computer modelling. So, enjoy what you have while you have it.

Go well one and all.

JB Surftag washing machine.

Posted on January 22nd, 2012 in North Narrabeen.

It is junk all over the place on the Northern Beaches.  North Narrabeen was holding the semi finals for  the southern NSW Jim Beam Surftag.  Conditions were messy at around 2 – 3 foot.  Few little section on the alley to punch a few turns on that was about it.  Surf Photos of You.

Peaky Head high.

Posted on November 30th, 2011 in North Narrabeen.

With the constant NE wind last night there are some peaky head high waves at Northy this morning.  Good to see some swell at least.  Still a bit bumpy and very short period.  But fun.  Enjoy.  Surf Photos of You.
