Posted on April 1st, 2009 in Bondi, Bronte, Tama.Too big. too windy, too messy to surf.
Corker!
Posted on March 29th, 2009 in Bondi, Bronte, Tama.Perfect day today, a tick in all the boxes. Bronte reef very good to shoulder high and Tama has a couple of peaks looking good. Bondi smaller, way more crowded and full of backpackers.
ZIPPO.
Posted on March 26th, 2009 in Bondi, Bronte, Tama.Pancakes, flapjacks, pikelets and crepes from Bondi to Bronte.
Finally some swell to report!
Posted on March 24th, 2009 in Bondi, Bronte, Tama.Nice swell to shoulderhigh at Bronte and Tama this morning. Bronte reef rightis working just fine, a little crowded early, Tama reef left is looking the goods too. Bondi a bit flukey but worth the trip for the social experience.
Waisted-(sic)
Posted on March 15th, 2009 in Bondi, Bronte, Tama. Some fun , although only waist high, waves on offer at Tama and Bronte this morning. Bronte reef a nice shape but take your rates notice with you as it seems quite “locals only” out there. Tama reef nice and glassy but flags up so softies only. Bondi small and way too weak for anything decent and yet is the most crowded.
Grey mash potato
Posted on March 9th, 2009 in Bondi, Bronte, Tama.On shore mush burgers this morning. Way too full at 8am, maybe better now but I doubt it. Bronte reef could be fun but I don’t think so. Tama outcrop might be working but probably not. Bondi should be getting the brunt of what’s out there but it isn’t. However, the glass is half full.
Remnants
Posted on March 8th, 2009 in Bondi, Bronte, Tama.Shoulda been here Friday. There is some leftovers hanging around the plate this morning but it’s a little messy. Bronte and Tama the pick with Maccas worth keeping an eye on. Bondi the busiest for a change.
Top shelf.
Posted on March 6th, 2009 in Bondi, Bronte, Tama.Excellent waves on offer this morning even though the tide is a touch low. Tama’s summer reef is probably the pick with the outcrop working as well. Maccas right is good and Bronte reef, much smaller but good shape. Bondi has options everywhere but the paddle out is a bit tricky.
Saw my old mate Jacque out at Bondi this morning, yelled out to him, “JACQUE, JACQUE” and everyone left the water.
Maccas is back and so am I.
Posted on March 1st, 2009 in Bondi, Bronte, Tama.Geez, I take a week off and it goes from flat to good to flat to a bit. There is a bit of decent swell on the city beaches this morning but the wind is slowly getting into it. Bronte reef was quite clean but a bit smallerthan Tama. Maccas is back with enough sand in there to “bring back the wedge”. Bondi has fun but small lefts and rights all up and down the beach with cosy corner the pick. Get there soon though ’cause there is only about a thousand people out there now and later it might get crowded.
Eastern ‘burbs adventure
Posted on February 24th, 2009 in At large, Bondi, Maroubra, Tama. The likely lads decided to make the big trip from the northern beaches to the jewel of the eastern suburbs – Maroubra. Along the way we also had a squizz at Bondi, Tama, etc. But we ended up getting in the water at Maroubra ’cause it had the quality. Crowd wasn’t too big, there were heaps of peaks too. Mostly of short duration, but every now and then you could jag one that was up to shoulder high on the take off.
The wind was an ideal NW when we arrived, but not long after paddling out, it started to swing SE and to pick up. Vibe seemed pretty chill to me. Maybe it was due to the reaonably consistent nature of the little windswell and the fact that there were a number of peaks to choose from. As waves go, it sort of reminded me of Curly a bit. Water was clear too. My first surf there too, so kinda cool it turned out so fun.
Afterward we stopped by Bondi junction for some mex and a cerveza. Excellente senor!
- Most of the waves this morning were more like this...
- Bondi was mobbed, junky and not too interesting, but this guy did okay.
- Every now and then the sections would stand up and you could drive one.
- Not too special at Tama, but water looked pretty.
