Another micro Monday

Dee Why tiny on Monday morning, but swell's coming...

Hello Friends,

It may be micro at Dee Why this morning, but that will be changing very soon according to the Bureau’s summary issued this morning:

A low in the eastern Bass Strait will deepen significantly during the day whilst moving away to the southeast. This should result in strong to gale force winds about southern and central coastal parts with a slight easing in the north. A large southerly swell will move up the coast as a result of this development, having most influence on the Tuesday.

So, just wait, okay? 🙂

The Eden buoy is off the air currently, but the Batemans Bay buoy is showing only a metre, but the period has bounced up from 5 sec yesterday, to 9 sec today. Meanwhile, here in Sydney the settings at the last update of the data were 1 metre of 7 sec period NNE windswell.

The wind is currently out of the NW in Sydney and driving along at 10-15kts. However, it’s going to pick up and the Bureau reckons Sydney will be getting 25-35 kts.

Tomorrow the wind will be from the SW at 20-25 kts and the Bureau says the swell is set to build to 3-3.5 metres from the south.

Sorry about the lack of pics this morning, but we’re planning to flick RealSurf over to a new architecture. As part of that change, the design has also been revamped fairly comprehensively. We were trying to get the new page up last night, but ran into some issues that will probably put it off for a day or two (I hope!). Anyway, for those of you who’d like to see what it looks like, go check out my.realsurf.com.

Have yourself a top old day, and check back because I’ll aim to put together a 6-day surf outlook for ya.
