No surf, but who cares if you\'re cooped up in a London bedsit and missing home?

Hello Friends,

Sharp start this morning. But the skies over Sydney are sunny and the Bureau says it will warm up a touch to around 16 along the coast today. SW wind is set to go from around 15-20 kts to 20-30 kts. Sadly, the ocean is looking very small as it lives down to the very modest expectations we had for Monday. No one in the water that I could see at Dee Why, although I suppose you might possibly find the odd knee high bomb up the beach toward no man’s.

The MHL buoy is showing a slight increase in size overnight, but it really is a small amount (from about 0.8m to about 1.2m). Swell is mainly coming from the south with an average peiod of around 7 seconds.

No major prospects that I can see of a significant change for the next few days, but I’d be happy to be proven unduly pessimistic.

However, there have been some very interesting developments brewing in the models just recently. The weather watchers on our forums spotted the promising indications late last week. It’s good to see that the models have maintained the faith since then and are only looking better and better for the end of the week. If it comes together as it currently looks as though it will, we’re in for macking south swell from Friday through Sunday. Macking as in 4-6 metres at sea of 10-12 sec south swell with light SW wind…

Could be interesting…

I’m out and about shortly, so I’ll try to grab an additional snap or two for your enjoyment.

Have yourself a top old day!
