Just went through the memory card from this morning’s shooting efforts. Once again I ended up shooting at Dee Why because it was the first place I saw photogenic waves. There was still some size around this morning, but despite the 10 sec average period, it seemed just a little slow. Saw quite a few people at Collaroy, but not much in the way of quality. There were some little waves at Brownwater and inside whiterock, but they seemed kinda fat and weak. So, off to Dee Why…
The point was well populated of course. Sunny Sunday, swell and all that. Most people seemed to be sitting in the water watching though. Set waves had plenty of size but most of them sectioned just inside from first rock. As usual there were the nice sections to be had, but for the most part I don’t think the quality was all that impressive. The beachy was equally intermittent. Sets would arrive, but just not do much. People struggled to get into them, then got caught behind more or less immediately.
Overall I’d give the bits of Sunday morning I saw about a 6 or 7 out of 10. Hope yours was at the high end of the range!
