Was kiting at S Narra last evening when out of nowhere came some huge sets, some of them breaking a couple hundred metres out, driven by some massive ocean swells about 1km out. Felt like someof them would have been 5m or more going up the face of a few of them. Mostly, it was about head high near the beach, pretty windblown from the 25 knot nor’easter.
This morning, both the swell and the wind have gone southerly. Not doing much for Dee Why but there is almost a surfable wave on the Point, just very messy. And strangely, up the beach is much smaller. Looks like just not getting in at DY for some reason.
