WEEKLY   REPORTS  for    2009

Report No:   07- 09

Period:           Monday 9th until Sunday 15thFebuary.

Monday.   High tides @ 6.39am & 7pm.   With not much south swell around they headed to The Rivermouth at Tiavea which was head & a half high on the sets. Lefts & rights, a bit washy & cross shore but still our crew made the most of it & picked the diamonds in the rough. A couple of turns or a few barrels were out there. When they got back Resorts was glass clean & shoulder high. They hit it for a few hours before dark & got a heap of fun lefts & rights. A good 6 or 7 hours in the water today, all 8 guests stoked.

Tuesday.  High tides @ 7.24am & 7.46pm.  Resorts again for an early, dropped a bit but awesome shape giving those who got up quality waves & a few pits. Again plate glass clean all day so they got another session in the arvo. Fun lefts & rights waist to shoulder high, guests happy as.

Wednesday.  High tides @ 8.10am & 8.34pm.  Due to a small south swell & bigger north swell they pulled a dawn patrol to Missions at Tiavea. Got over there at 7.30 am & surfed till 12ish. It was clean with no wind & really consistent, with the crew getting shoulder to head high sets in a picturesque location with not a person anywhere to seen. Barrels & turns, 3 or 4 turns on the goodies. Guests said one of the best surfs they had ever had.

Thursday.  High tides @ 8.58am & 9.24pm.  Boat trip to Wakas this morning which was glassy with long walls, all the hints of good session with no one on it.   3 others showed up but there were heaps of waves to go round and it was like a play ground out there, cutties, reo’s, floaters & barrels, it was great. Head high sets, the 4 of our crew got more than their fair share of beauties. Then another crew rocked up so they bailed to Special K for an hour & got some clean fun rights. Another epic day which won’t be forgotten quickly, guests & 1 staff high on life with 5 hours of surf.

Friday.  High tides @ 9.48am.  Y Tops was the spot this morning & it was pretty much all time. Head high, glass clean & perfectly lining up, racy waves for heaps of turns or get fully barreled. 6 guests got some of the best waves they’ve ever had & it was only us out there. Six hours in the water & the beers flowed that arvo & night with many tales of waves that day.

Saturday.  High tide @ 10.46am.  Again Y Tops, still clean & consistent but today only 2 guests out, so they got a heap of waves. Again a few pits but mainly racy walls for reo’s or cutties. Today & yesterday the wind was north & offshore our whole surfs.

Sunday. High tide @ 11.12am.  Small waves today so no surf trip, but a fishing trip instead. Small clean waves out the front at Resorts only waist high, maybe tomorrow??

Photos   Today shots are all out front @ Resorts three, 07a,  07b, 07c featuring Mick our Asst. Manager, seems like he might have been sprung when he should have been working. 07d is of a beautiful empty wave again @ Resorts
