Mark Mathews won $20,000 big ones & I won $3k (having got the shot) in last night’s ASL/Oakley Big Wave Awards at the Bondi Surf Club. Riding the biggest wave in Australia waters of the last year.
I still can’t believe it, as the entries were all so good & BIG – but I suppose the tape measure was stretched longer than the other finalist out of 40 contenders & won the prestigious award.
It should be on the news tonight if you’re home early enough to be watching.
Mark’s wave will be featured in my Australian Surf Movie Festival 7 starting Wednesday 18th of March.
