Manly to Curly

Hello Friends,

Running a little late this morning. Sorry.

Started my day by arriving at Manly around 0715. Quite a few folk in the water it has to be said, but then they weren’t there without reason because the SE swell is about 2 metres at sea with a period of close to 10 sec. Despite the high tide, there were some fun looking, if a touch soft, little chest high sections to be had if you were in the right spot. As well the Navy was wrapping up a big exercise with a parade of ships into the Harbour, so the horizon was more than usually interesting.

Here are a few snaps, and then below that you’ll find thoughts re Freshy and Curly.

0720: reasonably consistent and okay despite the tide.

The situation at Freshwater was nowhere near as interesting as at Manly. Yes, there were little rollers coming ashore, but it was about half the size of Queenscliff and yet it was fairly busy in the water. Couldn’t really get any intersting surf pics but did get a shot of ritual board slaughter though…

Curl Curl didn’t have much of interest going on at the south end around 0740, but from about the middle to the north end, there was lots of activity. I counted around 50 people starting the day off with a session at the mighty Curly.

As with everywhere else, the tide was taking its toll but if you could get in the right position, there were moments of juice to be enjoyed. Herewith a couple snaps…
