LOWER TRESTLES, California (Wednesday, September 16, 2009) – The Hurley Pro Trestles, Stop No. 6 of 10 on the 2009 ASP World Tour, has been called off today, with only small, inconsistent surf on offer at Lower Trestles this morning.

With three days remaining in the waiting period after today, and only one full day of competition left to run, the Hurley Pro Trestles will look run the world’s best surfers in the best possible conditions on offer.

Event organizers will reconvene tomorrow morning at 7am to assess conditions for a possible 8am start.

Surfline, official forecaster of the Hurley Pro Trestles, is calling for today’s combination swell to dissipate throughout the next couple of days before tracking some southwest energy later in the week.

When the event recommences, up first will be former event winner Bede Durbdige (AUS), 26, up against compatriot Kai Otton (AUS), 29.
