Little ones about for the keen

Hello Friends,

The quick version: we still have some little waves at spots that pick up SE swell. The numbers aren’t terribly impressive (a metre at 7 seconds), but there’s a enough going on to produce the occasional waist high set and it looks like it might be just a touch more energetic as well.

I had a look at the Dee Why stretch first and can report that there were a scattering of bods from about the club north toward No Man’s. It seemed to be quite a wait between the rideable ones.

Then looped around for the view from Edgecliff Blvd of the Collaroy-Narrabeen stretch. There were a couple bodyboarders messing about in knee to waist high little crumblers near the south Narra SLSC, but not much going on from there north to the Alley. A bunch of folks in up that end of course because of the contest. If you have a heat up there, it looks as though you can expect waist with the odd chest high set.

Tide will peak a little before 1000 this morning, so expect fatness to prevail until lunchtime at least.

Wind was light at around 0700, but the forecast is calling for light sea breezes developing later, and by this evening it could be pushing along at 15-20 kts.

Outlook for the rest of the weekend is so-so. Today looks better than tomorrow, but then Monday there could be some south swell activity as a little low spins up briefly to the NW of Tasmania. The models show it shooting across toward NZ’s south Island but with luck it’ll send us some actual surf in the form of a SE swell from midday Monday through to Wednesday morning. Here’s hoping!!

Have yourself a great Saturday and go well.
