Still a few waves about this morning

Hello Friends,

Didja get waves at the weekend? Not quite as much energy in the ocean this morning, but it’s not flat. Swell is out of the SE at around a metre with an average period of just under 10 seconds. A few bods were waiting around at Dee Why point around 0700. Every now and then a waist to chest high set wave would show up to make the vigil worthwhile.

Not much going on in the beachy at the Dee Why end, but you’d have to think there’d be a something up toward no man’s. Looks like we’ll have a sort of repeat of yesterday’s wind situation – ie offshore early, then drifting around to the NE and picking up by lunch time.

Looks as though we should have some waves over the next three days before we enter an extended period of solid south swell (and a fair amount of wind) from about Thursday onward (the call is for around 3m from Thr onward). Latest run of the models suggests that there will be a substantial peak in energy around midday Saturday into Sunday for our region. One interpretation of the data reckons it could be around 4 metres at 12+ sec… now that’s juice.

BTW, I went shooting at Curly on Saturday and Northy on Sunday. If you surfed there, you should have a quick look to see if I got any of you!
