"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Sunny and little waves to be had

Hello Friends,

You know what I don’t like? When I write a report and post some pictures and my net connection drops out exactly as I post it and run out the door, only to come home hours later to find out I haven’t posted. Grrr.

So, this is a very late report. My sincere apologies.

As of 1300, the wind’s out of the NE at 10-15 kts. That’s right in line with the forecast. Swell was a touch under the 2 metre mark on average. It’s coming from the south at about 10 seconds apart – with some 13 second sets in amongst it.

I went for a quick splash at Longy this morning after having seen the less than stellar offerings at Manly and Curly. One shouldn’t be impatient when it comes to the tide. But I was and it was really fat thanks to two metres of high tide. Got a couple sort of interesting ones though, so as usual, it was well worth getting in the water.

Tide’s now dropping to the low at 1520 or so. It’s looking kinda beat up down at the Dee Why end of the beach, so your best bet will be those north corners. There’s enough swell that a shoulder high face is not out of the question at exposed spots.

The Bureau says the swell will swing to the east overnight and be around the metre to metre plus mark for tomorrow morning. Wind should be north early, swinging NE later.

Have yourself a great Friday!
