A few fun ones for the early

Hello Friends,

Swell’s almost dead east this morning. It’s averaging 2 metres out at sea and the power setting is on 9 seconds (with some 10 sec stuff in the mix). Wind was light early but the Bureau says we’ll get a s-se change later.

Dee Why was moderately, but not insanely, busy for the early. Set wave faces were into the two metre range, but of course most of them were smaller than that. The swell looked a little cleaner and more lined up than yesterday evening. Given the incoming SE’ly, you’d want to get on it sooner rather than later I’d say.

According to this morning’s run of the models, the swell should fade a little today but then it should stay at around the 1.5 metre point through mid-weekend. From Sunday onward some of the models are showing a good size (up to 4 metres in some predictions) east wind swell, but they’re also calling for stiff E-ESE onshores with the peak on Monday. So there may not be too many options around the place for a clean wave.

Water’s really warm now, so I’d get out for a paddle.

Have a great Thursday!

Weather Situation for Sydney’s coast
A low pressure trough lies off the northern NSW coast. A high pressure system south of the Bight, is expected to drift slowly east during the next few days, strengthening as it reaches the Tasman Sea during the weekend. A weak southerly change will extend along the southern coast today ahead of the high and southerly winds in the north will freshen to the west of the trough. The trough is forecast to persist along the northern coast until about Monday and will possibly re-intensify Sunday or Monday. South to southeast winds will continue along the coast during this period.
