Nice morning but not much on the wave front

Hello Friends,

Dee Why’s looking quiet this beautiful Monday morning. There were a few bodyboarders messing around in the dribble at the point and one or two bods scattered up the beach toward the pole. Size would be struggling to make waist high on the big ones.

Weirdly, the BoM is warning of large swells again this morning. But the MHL buoy is only showing a couple metres of 6 second period NE wind swell off Sydney, Bit of a mystery that one.

To the extent it matters, the next tide is a high just before noon.

Studying this morning’s swell modelling efforts, it would seem we’re in for knee high to nothin’ for a few days. There seems to be some prospect of a small NE pulse late Weds or early Thursday.

Here’s hoping!

Have a top old Monday everyone.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is directing north to northeasterly winds across New South Wales. This high is expected to remain slow-moving through the first half of this week, directing progressively warmer more humid and increasing northerly winds over New South Wales as a trough approaches from the west. The trough and an associated cold front currently appear likely reach the coast later in the week. Rain and thunderstorms will precede this system.
