"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Hello Friends,

There’s a turn up for the books. It was supposed to be small by this morning. Certainly it had dropped a fair amount through the day yesterday and was looking like going near flat overnight too. But Huey’s stepped in.

At 0630 this morning, the MHL buoy was showing 2.4 metres of SSE swell with an average period of about 9 seconds. Skies were grey and drizzly, and the wind was a light but steady southerly of around 10 knots. The ocean surface was a little choppy but the Bureau says the wind should let up as we get toward lunchtime. The swell is due to fade across the day and from tomorrow on is not looking all that interesting for Sydney surfers it has to be said.

Tide is high at 0800 and low about 1340.

Have yourself a great Saturday!

Time for a plug…
Surfrider Foundation’s first Solstice Jam – Thr, 20 June 2013

It’s a fundraiser where the emphasis is on fun and you’re in the door with a voucher for a couple drinks and finger food for a laughable $20. You can book online right now by clicking here. Oh, and I’ll be putting together a little video clip of PC at Dee Why point in 1977. Might work in a few shots of Terry Fitz and MP as well. It comes from 16mm film I shot and is something very few people have seen… I’m also keen to source images and vid sequences from DY and the northern beaches if you know of any (all media will be credited and used only for the night).

Here’s the official bumpf
