Hello Friends,
Only a trickle – but there is a trickle – of knee to waist plus SSE swell this morning on the Northern Beaches. Had the opportunity to see Curly as well as Dee Why and I think it’s safe to say that both stretches of the beach were very similar. There were lots of folk in the water chasing what looks to be pretty feeble (with some occasional exceptions) little dribblers. Every now and then Huey tosses up something slightly interesting, so in the course of a sesh you should come away with at least a moment or two of amusement value.
Tide was high at about 0920 and while it will drop back a little between then and 1450, the change is going to be pretty subtle I would’ve thought.
On current calculations, the surf outlook for our region is pretty ordinary for most of the coming week (the Goat picked it). That said, there is some energy showing in the models from around Thursday afternoon and into Saturday as a strong south pulse develops. We’ll need to cling to that hope because the next couple days are looking near flat to me…

Surfrider Foundation’s first Solstice Jam – Thr, 20 June 2013

Oh, and I’ll be putting together a little video clip of PC at Dee Why point in 1977. Might work in a few shots of Terry Fitz and MP as well. It comes from 16mm film I shot and is something very few people have seen… I’m also keen to source images and vid sequences from DY and the northern beaches if you know of any (all media will be credited and used only for the night).

Celebrating protecting our waves and beaches through music, film and community.
Surfrider Foundation is a devoted group of surfers, coastal scientists and activists who have been protecting waves and beaches for the past 20 years. Proceeds from this event will support the work of Surfrider Foundation’s high impact environmental programs.
