Hello Friends,

Had the opportunity to swing by the beach late morning, not far off high tide. Despite the forecast, it was glassy and humid with a weak little SE wind swell producing set wave faces up into the shoulder high range. But the waves were so feeble that people on regular short boards were struggling to keep from sinking out after their first turns. The MHL buoy was showing 10 sec average period at 0800, but it didn’t look like that to me. If I’d tossed the board in the car, I might’ve had a splash, but the quality’s not quite enticing enough to persuade me to make a return trip.

Have yourself a good one.

Not spectacularly punchy, but big and wide boards worked okay.

Briefly shoulder high wave face lasted only seconds.
