Had the opportunity to visit the mighty Maroubra this morning to give a mate and major crowdfunding sponsor a long-promised surf lesson. It was a beautiful morning with not a breath of wind, puffy clouds, blue skies and water that both looked and felt tropical. There were even some little learner-friendly waves to mess about in. A bit of a challenge to get much speed up though as they were mostly sub waist high and had an average period somewhere around the 7 second mark. Wonderful to be in and fun to be surfing somewhere other than the northern beaches too.
