Grey Friday with little waves early

Hello Friends,

Dull and grey with an 80% chance of precipitation on the cards. Wind was light early while tide was high. The Bureau tells us to expect 10-15 kts of easterly by this afternoon. Swell is out of the south and around the waist to chest mark on sets as the day gets started. It should pick up a little later on too. The Bureau tells us the swell will peak at around the 2 metre mark overnight and be back a bit in the morning when the wind should again be out of the easterly quarters.
The MHL buoy for Sydney hasn’t updated since the 27th, so the only objective spectral data we have to work with is coming from the Eden waverider buoy. It shows about two metres of basically straight south swell at nearly 10 seconds apart. That lines up with the current forecast.
The long range forecasts don’t have much of interest for us. There seems to be some speculation about a slight uptick late next week and then maybe again a week later. But I wouldn’t be blocking out anything in the old diary just yet.
Have yourself a fine old Friday!
