Hello Friends,
Brief update:
Managed to get a look at Manly, Curly and Northy this morning. Around 0900 Manly was knee to waist, clean, but high percentage of shutdowns. The pick quality wise. Curly was waist to chest, a bit ruffled by the wind and mostly shutdowns with the odd shortish shoulder. Northy had half a dozen in the water, was more wind affected but also delivering more makeable waves and was around the waist to chest range on sets.
Swell energy levels have weakened overnight and where Dee Why’s concerned, the point’s no longer an option. There were still a few little waist plus things turning up along the beach as the morning kicked off. The MHL buoy is showing some small SE mixed with smaller and shorter period E to SE wind swell. Wind was chilly and out of the WSW at 10-15kts. The Bureau says the wind’ll go S-SE this afternoon and the swell will likely further decline.
Tide was low at 0645 and will be high around 1330.
As of this morning, it looks as though we’ll have to wait until late in the weekend for our next serve of energy. The more optimistic modelling continues to show a 2-3 metre south pulse from as early as Sunday with a peak about 24 hours later. As noted yesterday, the wind call is for strong south to SSW across the front half of the swell pulse, so it could be Tuesday before conditions come together for a majority of spots.
Have yourself a great Wednesday everybody!
Weather Situation
