Small waves about

Hello Friends,

Wind was light early and we had around a metre of SE swell with an average period of nearly 13 seconds. Low tide is at 0725 and we’re headed into another mostly sunny day. The Bureau’s posted a strong wind warning for westerly wind of 15-25 kts later.

Waves at the most exposed spots should be into the waist high range, maybe occasionally a touch bigger.

Outlook for the next 24 hours is that we should see the swell fade back to marginal, but then to come back up again for Mon and Tuesday. If the modelling has it right, Monday afternoon should see the energy peak into the head high range at south magnet spots before gradually fading across Tuesday and Wednesday.

Have yourself a great Saturday everybody!

Weather Situation
A low pressure system to the west of Tasmania will weaken as it moves across Bass Strait today, with a high over central Australia extending a ridge across the north of New South Wales. The low will reach the western Tasman Sea by tonight and remain slow moving during Sunday, before moving further east and deepening in the eastern Tasman on Monday night. The ridge will move slowly eastwards across New South Wales during Monday and Tuesday, with winds along coastal waters turning north to northwesterly from Tuesday, ahead of a westerly change which is expected around Wednesday night.
