"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Kinda scrappy but still big

Hello Friends,
Wind was WSW at 0715. It was around 10-15 kts but the Bureau says it’ll get into the 15-20 kt range from the south to SE. Swell was a solid 3 metres from the SE at 11 seconds apart. As the pictures show, the surface conditions were pretty messy – but not unsurfably so.
The point was delivering shoulder to 1.5x overhead wave faces – particularly on the take-off – and along the beach, if you were keen, there were some longish lefts to be snagged in amongst the lumpiness. Water still looks pretty uninviting and the Bureau says there’s a 90% chance of more rain so it probably won’t be improving.
Next tide is a low at 1015.
The Goat will likely be along later with his look at the week ahead. I hope he’s seeing something I’m not ’cause it looks like our energy is going to fade away before the wind direction gets its act together.
Oh well, so it goes. At least there are a few waves around for the very keen.
Have yourself a top old Friday everybody!

Weather Situation

A deep low pressure system over the central Tasman Sea is generating vigorous winds and large seas along the New South Wales coast. Conditions will gradually ease today as the low moves towards New Zealand and a high pressure system south of the Bight drifts east. This high is expected to strengthen through the weekend and become the dominant feature in the region for several days.
