Dribble but not totally hopeless

Hello Friends,

Light offshores and a weak short period combo of south and south-east swell washing into Sydney’s beaches this morning. The MHL buoy was showing 1.5 metres or so of 8-ish second bump, so there should be knee to maybe waist and bit little things at the magnet spots. Tide started coming back in at 0615.

The Bureau says the wind should go more onshore (SE) but be light during the morning before swinging NE after lunch. Best plan is to go now with low expectations.

Tomorrow seems to be shaping up similarly, although it could be NE from early. Friday looks smaller but still possibly do-able.

Here in So Cal the energy levels have come up a tiny touch but it was still really little at winter magnet spots such as California Street and Rincon. Maybe knee to waist. Waves look pretty slow too. Still hopeful of a bump up in the next 24 hours or so. It would be good to have an actual wave picture or two to share. Anyway, here are three postcards for you…

Have a great day!

Weather Situation

A weakening high pressure system west of Tasmania extends a ridge along the NSW coast. Another high pressure centre will develop east of Bass Strait today with winds tending east to northeasterly along the coast. This high will move across the Tasman Sea tomorrow as an intensifying cold front and pre-frontal trough approach western NSW, with northeast winds freshening along the coast. Northerly winds are expected to strengthen further on Friday with the front likely to bring a strong, gusty southerly change to the southern coast later in the day. This change is likely to move along much of the remainder of the coast on Saturday and gradually weaken.
