Lumpy but glassy waves early

Hello Friends,

Wind was playing nice for the early and the raw swell was offering a lumpy playground for Dee Why surfers this morning. It was still over two metres from the SE at 10 seconds out at the buoy and wave faces on the bigger sets were in that size range. As the pictures show, it wasn’t uncrowded. Low tide today was at 0815, so the morning sesh should enjoy a little tidal assist.

The Bureau expects the swell to stay around the current size for the rest of the day. It’s moved more toward the east overnight. Wind outlook is for a summer NE pattern, so earlier will be better along exposed stretches, while late afternoon surfers will be looking for a protected north corner.

Tomorrow looks like another NE’r day, with light winds for the early and some residual mainly east swell. The models aren’t all lining up this morning, but it seems we’ll have little stuff for the early most days in the coming week, with some possibility of a pulse around Friday.

Have yourself a great Sunday!
