Sunny strongly southerly morning

Hello Friends,

Apologies for running a little late this morning. Southerly was going hard from early and by the time I grabbed the pics a little before 0800, the ocean was a mess – but not completely. Wind was 20-25 kts from the S-SSW though and that meant there were plausible looking sideshore things at the point. However, there were no takers. The further up the beach you go, the more torn up the conditions.
Swell is coming from a couple of directions according to the MHL data. The bulk of the energy was coming from the SSW but it was pretty short period (around 6 seconds). Additionally there’s some 11-12sec ESE swell in the mix.
The Bureau’s calling for the wind to back off a little for the late, so there might possibly be the odd sneaky option hiding away in a corner.
Tide was high at 0650 and will be back to low at 1325.
The southerly is predicted to be a factor tomorrow, but it could be light and variable for the Saturday early session. However, the models are also showing the swell fading, so your south magnets will be the best shot I’d say.
Have yourself a great day one and all!
