Pretty morning but pretty small too

Hello Friends,

Faint NW breeze at 0830 under bright and cloud-free skies. Tide was low at 0530 and is on the way to high at 1145. Should be sunny all day with a high of 33. Wind will gradually come up a little from the NE. Swell is out of the SE at around a metre with an average period of 8-9 seconds. That means wave faces along the beach from Dee Why to No Man’s in the knee to waist range. So, take your little wave board.

Swell size looks to gradually fade a little and tomorrow could be close to flat. But then the models indicate a return of some swell energy (a relief to the organisers down at Manly I should imagine). The improvement in size from Tuesday onward is shaping to be pretty minor until around Friday when we could start to get an extended pulse from the east thanks to a nice long fetch that looks to be organising itself by then.

Have yourself a great Sunday and keep on smilin’!

Weather Situation

A high over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the north coast of New South Wales. A cold front crossing the Southern Ocean is expected to reach the south coast this evening bringing a fresh southerly change, before weakening on the central part of the coast on Monday. Another high centre should move to the west of Tasmania today then move to the southern Tasman Sea on Monday where it will drift slowly east over the next day or two. Southeasterly winds along the coast on Monday should tend east to northeasterly in central and southern parts from Tuesday as the ridge pushes to the north coast.
