Waves to be had this morning

Hello Friends,

Cloudy and mild as Sunday got started. The good news is that there are waves. It’s not booming, but Dee Why was showing plenty of waist high activity along the beach and at the point. Wind was light early and the tide was coming into the high at 0820. Swell was out of the SE at 1.5 metres and 8 seconds apart, so not high quality – but do-able.

That wind will go SE before long and will be 15-20 kts. So, once again, the early crew gets the pick of the conditions. Oh, and the Bureau says the swell will fade back as the day goes along,

The week ahead still looks hopeful but tomorrow and Tuesday don’t seem likely to be too spectacular. Still, there should be waves of some sort and as we get to the end of the week, the cyclone that just devastated Fiji could be sending some energy our way. The real action though will be up the coast.

Have yourself a great Sunday and keep on smilin’!

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough on New South Wales Mid North Coast is weakening as a high pressure system moves towards Tasmania strengthening a ridge along the coast. The high will move over the southwestern Tasman Sea today and it will continue to move slowly east across the southern Tasman Sea over the next few days maintaining the ridge to the northwest and directing southeast to northeasterly winds.
