Sunday slightly scrappy, small but surfable

Hello Friends,

By 0800 the wind was already 10 kts from the NNE – it’s going to 15-20 kts later. Tide was high an hour earlier at 0650 and it’ll be back to low at 1330. Swell was coming from the east at about 1.3m with an average period of 11 seconds, but there was also some 15-sec component in the mix and it was producing the very occasional chest high set at the point and waist ish along the beach.

Don’t know if you saw this story in the Manly Daily, but the MHL folk have created a new site for your surfin’ bookmarks collection. It’s called NSWwaves.com.au and it provides a very fine-grained 4-day history and 3-day forecast for the NSW coast (like this one for Dee Why). They’re predicting swell conditions to remain pretty much the same for the next three days. That lines up with the models which, in some cases are projecting a steadily fading trend to the end of the week.

Have yourself a great Sunday one and all!
