Smaller but not flat

Hello Friends,

Light westerly winds and 1.7m of SSE swell at 11 seconds under heavy overcast (80% chance of showers today). A solid crew at the point again this morning chasing sets with chest high wave faces. I didn’t see any bomb sets, but from where people were sitting, I reckon there might be some head plus ones every now and again. Low tide was at 0750 and will be back to high at 1345.
By the time the tide’s getting to the high, the Bureau tells us that we could be seeing a south change. They predict it’ll be 20-30 kts by dark.
The southerly will be with us tomorrow morning and then while it will weaken a little, it’s supposed to go to the east.
From Thursday onward, the outlook is for marginal and short period conditions for a good week. Hope they’re wrong. We’re getting used to a steady supply of reasonable waves

Still a trickle of energy at the point at 0730

Weather Situation
A broad low pressure trough extends from the central coast of New South Wales southwards over the southwestern Tasman Sea. This is generating southerly winds along southern parts of the coast and north to northeasterly winds over the northern coast. A low pressure system will develop within the trough off the south coast this morning is forecast to move further east over the Tasman Sea. During Wednesday a strong southerly surge associated with the low will then move up the southern half of coast. The southerly surge will ease on Thursday as it moves up the northern coast and as the low moves further offshore. Winds throughout will shift northeasterly on Friday as a front approaches from the southwest.
