Waves and crowds for Anzac Day morning

Hello Friends,

Sunny skies and light offshores matched to about 1.5 metres of 9-second east swell and combined with an incoming tide (high’s at 1010) were delivering shoulder to head plus wave faces on sets at the point. As you can see from the pics, it was well populated by 0720. Size along the beach is looking more or less the same, but from what I could see, the dire bank situation is unchanged – hence all the bods at the point.
Wind is expected to come around to the E-SE but not get much above 10 kts. Surface conditions were textured early and as the wind comes around, it’ll likely get a bit choppier too.
Swell should stick around all day and then fade a little tomorrow but at this stage it looks like morning waves of some sort or other all next week. The general trend looks downward however, so we could be looking at knee to waist by Friday.
Go well with your Anzac Day one and all.
