Swell has really backed off overnight. Conditions otherwise are really pretty good. Wind is lightly offshore early and the ocean is smooth. As of 0500 the MHL buoy was picking up a metre of mainly SE swell with a period of around 12 seconds. At Northy it was delivering waist high rollers at the Alley, but nowhere else along the beach south from there. The biggest waves on the Longy to Dee Why stretch were in the No Mans to Pole zone. The point was keeping a few keen types entertained with the odd knee to waist high set. Tide hits a 1.5m high at 0815 and then drops back to a lowish 0.37 m at 2pm.
The Bureau has hoisted a strong wind warning for 15-25 kt SW wind this morning. It’s then supposed to fade back in the afternoon. The swell models generally predict small conditions but not flat across the front half of the week, then a lull Weds-Thurs-ish before a rather interesting sustained pulse for the weekend.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over northeast New South Wales remains the dominant synoptic feature in the region, promoting light to moderate winds along most of the coast. A fairly weak cold front will arrive on the weekend as the the high decays, bringing a fresh west to southwesterly change. Following this, a new ridge is expected to extend across from the west at the start of next week, with winds again becoming light to moderate over New South Wales waters.
