Friday firing

Hello Friends,
Light and chilly west wind as the day started, but it should swing south before long. Swell is SSE (170 degrees) 3 metres (down from 4 m yesterday) at 9.3 seconds. Sets, as the pictures show, were around 1.5x overhead at both the point and the beach when I grabbed the snaps at 0720. It seemed to be pretty consistent too and of course there are a few bombs in the mix that will probably push into the 2x overhead range. Tide is dropping to the low at 1015 and will be back to a 1.5m high at 1650. Weatherwise it should be partly cloudy and 18.
The Goat’s deep in the heart of the Outback atm so we don’t have the benefit of his thoughts about the week ahead. Looking at the Bureau’s models and various others, it basically looks to me like we should have waves through to Sunday morning as the current pulse gradually fades out. Early to midweek doesn’t look to exciting. In fact it may be pretty close to flat if this morning’s predictions hold up. But Thursday into Sunday morning could see waist to chest plus…
Go well!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system drifting over eastern New South Wales will be the dominant feature today and tomorrow, while a low over the northern Tasman sea is weakening and losing influence on coastal winds, but continues to bring a significant swell. Winds will turn northerly during Saturday as the high reaches the Tasman Sea, strengthening in many coastal areas on Sunday as a cold front approaches from the west. This front looks set to bring a gusty change to the southern coast late Sunday, continuing through to the north on Monday.
