Hello Friends,
Sparkling morning at Dee Why with light westerly wind and mostly clear skies. Unfortunately there was no sign of surf at Dee Why. However, the Bureau tells us that along with the wind picking up into the 20-30 kt range from the W-SW, we should see a combo of south and NE swell out at sea. Whether we’ll get much we can surf on is not clear from the models. Some say waist to chest is possible others are predicting no real change because the periods will be too short. Speaking of short periods, the MHL buoy was seeing 1.5 metres of 6-second SSW wind bump as of 0500. Tide is currently dropping to the low at 0815 and it’ll be back to a 1.6m high at 1455.
The Goat should be along later with an outlook for next week. From my quick glance at the models this morning though, I’m hoping those predicting something surfable across the weekend prove right, rather than the others showing only short-period wind bump for then next week…
Have a great Thursday everybody!
