Hello Friends,
Wind was coming lightly from the north by 0700 but the Bureau tells us it’s going to swing NE and ramp up into the 20-25 kt range this afternoon. As far as the surf goes, Dee Why and No Mans didn’t seem to have attracted any takers. Looking at the MHL data tells the story. As of 0500 there was 1.4 metres of 7-sec ENE wind chop out at sea – and that’s a recipe for knee to waist high wave faces on the biggest peaks at the most optimally aligned spots.
Tide hit a 1.7 m high a little before 0700 and is now dropping to the 0.4 m low at 1315.
Once the wind kicks into high gear there should be some junky but waist to chest high stuff at semi-exposed north corners, particularly in the late afternoon hours.
The Goat’s week ahead outlook dropped last night and, as always, I commend his wisdom to you!
Weather Situation
A slow-moving high pressure system near New Zealand with a ridge to its northwest is directing generally northeasterly winds along the New South Wales coast. Winds will increase during Saturday ahead of a southerly change, which is expected to move up the south coast on Sunday. The change will extend to parts of the north coast on Monday before deepening into a coastal trough.
