"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Not sweltering but still tiny

Grey and flat start to Thursday

Hello Friends,

A steady 12-14 kt SE wind was blowing from before 0730 this morning and yet, in the corner at Dee Why it was relatively smooth. Unfortunately as the pics show, there was no sign of significant swell.  The latest MHL data from 0500 was showing 1.2 metres of 7 second SSE wind bump. Not that it matters to surfers today, but the tide was low at 0420 and will be back to a deep 1.7 m high at 1055. The BoM says we’re going to a high of 24 and we’re likely to see the odd shower.

The Goat should be along later with his thoughts about the Christmas week’s surf prospects, so it’ll be interesting to see how his thoughts compare to the various swell models’ predictions. My take is that we’re facing another week plus of short period wind bump – and therefore marginal prospects.

Have a great Thursday and don’t worry if you can’t get to the beach today!
