Near flatness at Dee Why

Hello Friends,

Light north wind under uniformly cloudy skies this morning at Dee Why. There’s a 1.25 metre 6-sec wind bump coming in from the north, which means it’s pretty much flat everywhere in Sydney. Magnet spots might be nudging the ankle to knee high range, but there’s very little energy in the system right now. Take your longest and floatiest surfing toy if you’re keen.

The outlook? Well, as always, the extraordinarily reliable Goat has gazed at the guts and formulated a forecast just for you.

Have a great Friday everybody and hang in there… the waves will return!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea, in combination with a cold front approaching from the west, is generating northerly winds along the New South Wales coast. This front is forecast to bring a gusty west to southwesterly change to southern and central parts of the coast today, extending through to the north early Saturday. In the wake of the front, a new high pressure system will move across from the west, with winds becoming generally light on Sunday as it moves overhead.
