You have to wait but there are waves this morning

Hello Friends,
Back in Sydney from the annual run up the coast (23rd since ’77!) and have awoken to a sunny Sunday morning with little offshore lines rolling into the beaches. Between sets it looked very small, but if you just waited there were chest high wave faces to be had up the beach toward No Mans and waist-ish sets (less frequently) at the point.
Wind was a light westerly early. It’s set to pick up and go more SW-S by midday.
At 0600 the MHL Sydney buoy was showing a metre of 11-12 sec energy from the SE (140°). The forecast is for it to pick up as the day goes along and be in the 1.5-2 m range by close of play. Tide was a 0.37 low at 0625 and is now running in to a 1.4 m high at 1230.

Tomorrow’s outlook is very similar to today’s except that the swell should pick up into the 2-3 metre range – causing the Bureau to issue a caution for deceptive surf conditions.

The models continue to look hopeful for the coming week. Right now it looks as though Wednesday could be pretty dramatic with a combo of 2-3+ metre 15-17 sec south swell, sunny skies and offshores all day. And if the more hopeful models have it right, there should be waves through next weekend and into the following week…

Have a great Sunday one and all!
