Wednesday update: Swell is slowly easing back.. still some punch at open beaches but becoming more user friendly. Still best left to fit nad experienced. Sunny blue sky Just saw someone having a swim like it was summer..sure 10 degrees feels like 6.
Sunday update: It’s currently 1 metre and plus with plenty of people out at places open to the South. Not much wind, almost glassy conditions – if you want to add to the crowd. The Bureau has a dangerous surf warning up today.
Saturday update… Yep… like it says below… 1 metre rideable at some places, not at others. cold offshore W/NW wind which will pick up as the day goes on. Water temp is a coolish 18. Have Fun!
Surf forecast issued Friday 6 July 2018: Seven day outlook for Sydney:
Wind’s been blowing hard WNW for a good part of the day, and the Bureau is expecting some more windy days ahead. The initial effect has been to decrease the size of the ENE swell that was coming in earlier, but after a day or so it’ll start to come up from the South.
At first there’ll be a lot of SW in the swell so most of that will be headed out to sea. How much then results in rideable surf on a day to day basis is always difficult to judge, but TG’s best guess is below…
Saturday: down from today but it should still be around 1 – 1.5 metres or so from North East
Sunday: starting to come up at places open to dead South swell… say around 1 metre or so, increasing with the wind turning SW
Monday: could be around 2 metres or so at places open to dead South but unfortunately accompanied by southerly winds
Tuesday: similar size surf but the wind might be better
Wednesday: easing back through the 1-2 metre range dead South
Thursday: around 1 metre or so South East
Friday: similar.
Have fun !
